LG has confirmed that it will use Qualcomm’s latest high-end Snapdragon 800 processor in its next Optimus smartphone. The Snapdragon 800 is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 600, which is currently shipping inside the latest flagship smartphones, including the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Reports that a new Nexus 7 is set to arrive next month look even likelier today after a new Nexus-branded tablet from Asus passed through the FCC. The device, which has the “K009” model number, boasts new internals, including a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, front- and rear-facing cameras, and LTE radios.

The Samsung Galaxy S4’s latest software update, which first began its rollout in Germany back earlier this month, has landed in the United Kingdom. The device will have a smaller display with a lower-resolution screen and a slower processor, but it will be priced less to compete with devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
