New Asus Tablet With Nexus Branding Passes Through The FCC

New-Nexus-7-FCC

Reports that a new Nexus 7 is set to arrive next month look even likelier today after a new Nexus-branded tablet from Asus passed through the FCC. The device, which has the “K009” model number, boasts new internals, including a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, front- and rear-facing cameras, and LTE radios. Here’s the full list of specifications that Engadget has extracted from the certificate:

  • 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • Adreno graphics
  • 4,000mAh battery
  • Front- and rear-facing cameras
  • LTE

Those are some significant improvements over the existing Nexus 7, which doesn’t have LTE or a rear-facing camera. And although we can’t be completely certain this is indeed the second-generation Nexus 7, it certainly looks very likely, given that Asus has provided the “Nexus” branding in its description.

Recent rumors have suggested the new Nexus 7 will get its grand unveiling next month, so there isn’t too long to wait now.
