Pushbullet is one of those useful little apps that every Android device should be running — even more so following its latest update, which finally adds the ability to reply to text messages from your computer.

Earlier today, Pushbullet announced that it’s teamed up with EvolveSMS to furnish users the ability to view and reply to text messages they receive on their Android-powered smartphone, directly from their PC or Mac — So users will no longer have to touch their phone in order to read and respond to messages, just like the service Motorola offers with its exclusive Connect suite.

Pushbullet has acknowledged a major security concern with its popular Android app and promised to make improvements in future updates.

The company is working hard to implement the OAuth authorization framework to provide users with limited and revocable API keys that will make their data more secure — but it insists that your data is safe in the meantime just as long as you don’t share your existing key.

If I could only install ten apps on my Android device, Pushbullet would almost certainly be one of them. Not only does it mirror my notifications on my Mac and PC while I’m at my desk, but it also makes it super easy to share files and photos between the two.

And thanks to its latest update, Pushbullet now mirrors notifications across all of your Android devices — so you can get your SMS, WhatsApp, and Snapchat alerts on your tablet as well as your phone.

With Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Google introduced a new Notification Listening API that allows third party apps to access all your notifications. This has allowed the developers of PushBullet to offer an extremely nifty option of mirroring all your notifications to your PC.
