Google released the original model of its flagship 7-inch tablet, the Nexus 7, back in June, 2012, and a month later the device was available to purchase from the Play Store with a $350 price tag. However, if you didn’t have the opportunity to pick one up at the time, it may be of interest to you to know that you can currently grab the 7-inch slate for just $149 from the popular independent retailer, Woot! That’s a pretty good price considering we’re talking about the top of the range 32GB variant.

The Sprint MVNO operator, Ting, has just announced that it is now selling the Nexus 5 on its own website, but, strangely, it doesn’t want to you to buy it from its online store. Instead the carrier would prefer if you went to Google itself and purchased it directly from the Play Store for $349 and, then, popped a $10 pre-paid Ting SIM card into the handset upon its arrival.

Snapdragon Glance

Android users have a variety of third-party lock screens to choose from, which speaks volumes about the versatility of the platform. Today we can add one more to that list with the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Glance.

Glance is slightly different from conventional lock screens as it learns from usage and provides information accordingly, in addition to displaying notifications.

Apex Launcher Pro is currently receiving a much-anticipated update. For those unaware, Apex is an extremely versatile third-party home screen launcher, which allows its users to completely alter the appearance of their smartphone or tablet.

The upgrade doesn’t bring much in terms of new functionality, but it does bring a multitude of highly-requested bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations, plus the ability to sort apps in the drawer and receive push notifications via Apex Notifier 2.0.

A leaked press render for the upcoming red variant of Google’s flagship smartphone, the Nexus 5, has now been posted on Twitter just a couple of days after the image of an internal Sprint document appeared online revealing that the company was preparing to launch the red colored handset on February 4.
