Google appears to be preparing a big Google Play promotion to celebrate the store’s second anniversary. Users in Australia report that books, games, magazines, and movies have been reduced to as little as AU$0.99 — while others like FIFA 14 have gone completely free.

Every month, thousands of games are published on the Play Store from big and small developers alike. However, not all of them are worth your time, effort and money. Some are filled with IAPs that completely destroy the gameplay and are meant for minting money from the users while others are just poorly made.

To help you save the effort from distinguishing the good games from the bad ones, we list down the top 3 games released on the Play Store in February.

Motorola pushes out a fairly minor update for its very popular Active Display application. Sadly, the app is a Motorola exclusive and is currently only available to download on the Droid, Ultra, Mini, Maxx and Moto X, though, recent rumors suggest that the Google-owned company will expand compatibility to some of its other smartphones in the not-too-distant future.

Google is currently rolling out a relatively major update for its Android Google+ app. It’s pretty clear to see in the changelog below, that all the major changes bundled into this upgrade are aimed at improving a user’s photo-browsing experience, however, as you’d expect, the update also brings several bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements.

Google Now Launcher

The coveted Google Now Launcher can now be officially downloaded from the Google Play Store. This launcher initially broke cover with the Google Nexus 5 and was eventually available for side loading through third party sources, but Google has finally made it available directly through its app hub.
