Almost four months after LG launched its flagship Optimus G, the company has sold more than 1 million units. The device first launched in Korea back in September, and it’s been slowly but surely rolling out in additional markets since. In the United States and Canada, the Optimus G has been available since November, while those in China and Europe are still waiting for it.

LG has finally begun rolling out its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Optimus G, almost seven months after Google first announced the platform update. The update is currently reaching handsets in South Korea on the SK Telecom network, but those in the United States shouldn’t have to wait too long for it. As you’d expect, this release brings a number of new features that will significantly improve the performance and user experience of your handset.

Last Tuesday, a rumor surfaced regarding an exciting new Android handset from Sony that will reportedly offer a 5-inch 1080p display like the HTC Droid DNA. Called the Sony Xperia Yuga, the device is expected to debut in early 2013, but images of its prototype have already surfaced.

Amazon Wireless always offers up a great deal on some of the latest and greatest Android devices. In fact, they’ve just recently dropped the price of the LG Optimus G on AT&T and Sprint to a fantastic $99 with 2-year contract. That’s a cool $100 off the usual subsidized price for a device that’s essentially a souped up Nexus 4 (minus Android 4.2 and the stock experience). I’d take the Optimus G over the Nexus 4 any day and twice on Sundays if it had stock Android, and I’m betting there’s a bunch of you thinking the same thing.

AT&T has announced pricing and availability for the LG Optimus G, their first ever LTE quad-core smartphone. The LG Optimus G is set to hit stores on November 2 for $199.99 (2-year contract), however, those of you who hate having to go out can pre-order one starting tomorrow. This marks LG’s attempt for a big comeback in the smartphone arena and we’re dying to see how the Optimus G stacks up.
