OnePlus is offering One users an alternative to Android’s default keyboard by baking SwiftKey, one of the most popular third-party keyboards available, into its next over-the-air software update. The company is also promising improved sound quality thanks to MaxxAudio integration.

Cyanogen Inc. has confirmed that its new CyanogenMod 12S update — based on Lollipop — for the OnePlus One has entered quality assurance testing ahead of its public release. Once the software is tested and certified by third-party partners, it will be making its way to handsets over-the-air.

Based on the seemingly cryptic teaser, we expected the OnePlus “back to basics” announcement to involve something made of metal, but we were wrong. Instead, the company today announced its own OxygenOS ROM for the One, which will almost certainly replace CyanogenMod later on.
