HTC has made good on its promise to bring Honeycomb to its HTC Flyer Android tablet. HTC had to include support for its Scribe technology and custom UI and that’s why it took them a tad longer to get it out to customers. The Honeycomb update is rolling out now and will bring the HTC Flyer from Gingerbread to Android 3.2. There’s been different reports going around that the update is rolling out to WiFi only models, but we’ve also heard that the 3G versions is seeing the update, so we’re not exactly sure who’s getting it at this point.

The ASUS Transformer Prime has been somewhat of a roller coaster ride for consumers. This hot ticket item has been available and unavailable ever since its pre-order announcement. Some people have had their orders canceled while others have been lucky enough to have one delivered. Then, after everything is said and done and you actually receive one, it’s possible you might end up having GPS issues. According to numerous users, the ASUS Transformer Prime has one heck of a time locking onto a GPS signal, especially when offline. While ASUS hasn’t publicly stated a cause, they have released a couple of updates which we assume were attempts to fix the problem.

I have some good news for all you Verizon customers who were as upset as I was over the whole “convenience” fee fiasco. Verizon has decided to jump ship on the whole “convenience” fee idea after receiving immense backlash from customers as well as oodles of bad press (probably the bad press that did it). At one point it even looked as if the FCC was going to get involved, and for good reason: Verizon was simply trying to nickel and dime its customers. It’s not often we get to score one for the good guys, and this news has certainly put a smile on my face. Kudos to everyone who voiced their opinions, eventually forcing Verizon to release the following statement:

Good ol’ Verizon, always passing the savings onto its customers. If you didn’t catch the sarcasm in that last statement, prepare yourselves for disappointment. Verizon apparently believes you should be charged a “convenience” fee for paying your bill. Yea, I know — what a convenience it is to shell out hundreds of dollars to a company that has three outages in one month. Okay, so the “convenience” fee really only applies to anyone trying to pay their bill online or over the phone with any method other than electronic check. You’re also safe from being charged a fee if you are enrolled in AutoPay.

We’ve got some good news for any HTC EVO View 4G owners out there. An official Honeycomb update is out and ready to be pushed. The update finally brings Android’s official tablet software to the EVO view 4G and also breathes a breath of life into this aging (in mobile years) device. Users will have to be aware that due to Honeycomb being an entirely different beast, updating will result in complete loss of current homescreen settings, along with possible loss of app support. Once you’re done crying over your loss, we can take a look at all of the positive things you’ll gain from having a tablet OS on a — well — tablet.
