If you haven’t already filed your taxes, this weekend would be a great time to do so. This weekend only, Turbo Tax is offering free filing ($67+ value) for anyone who prepares their taxes using the Turbo Tax app for Android. The app is currently only available for Android tablets running 3.0+ (including the Kindle Fire) and requires users to file both their federal and state returns to be eligible.


The immensely popular MMO Pocket Legends is turning two and Spacetime Studios is throwing a celebration to honor all of its milestones and devoted fan base. For those of you using the Amazon appstore to get your free-app-of-the-day, you’ll be happy to know they have increased the maximum application size that can be downloaded over a mobile connection from 20MB to 50MB. This change comes in the latest update to the appstore and will now give you the convenience of downloading that must have app while on-the-go and away from a WiFi connection.


Zite is a popular iOS app that personalizes your news content automatically based on your habits and interests. What differentiates it from other news readers is its ability to tap into how you interact with the articles you read. Zite gets to know you better and better over time. The app has finally made it to Android but unlike its iOS counterpart, has not received much praise. In fact, user reviews seem to slam the developer for making a clunky iOS port and completely disregarding Android UI guidelines. Apparently the app is laggy and feel more like a beta app than anything. Now I haven’t personally tried the app out but if initial reviews are any indication, I might now want to.
