Moto-X-back

The Moto X is one of the worst-kept smartphone secrets of 2013. It hasn’t been announced yet, but we already know exactly what it’s going to look like. Having seen lots of pictures of its front in recent weeks, the latest leaked photograph shows off its back.

With the HTC One now shipping from hundreds of carriers across a whole host of markets, we’ve been wondering why it’s taking Verizon so long to throw its own hat into the ring. According to a leaked roadmap detailing the carrier’s plans for the next two months, we’ll have to wait until August for it to arrive — which is the same month Verizon plans to launch the much-anticipated Moto X.

Motorola is said to be developing a new smartphone that will be similar to the Nexus 4 in both specifications and price, with plans to sell it at less than €250 ($320). The device isn’t expected to replace the Nexus smartphone, but rather go on sale alongside it, according to unnamed sources for a Spanish-language website.

More photos leaked over the weekend showing two new variants of Motorola’s mysterious Moto X. The images show the device pictured in both black and white, with the designs matching previous alleged casing images we have already seen.

We don’t know a whole lot about Motorola’s upcoming flagship phone, the Moto X, other than that it will be made in the U.S. and feature new technology that has been in the works for years.

Now a report has shed some more light on what the Moto X will offer. Customers will be able to customize the look of the handset more than any other Android phone to date, and the device will be environment-aware thanks to some special hardware sensors.
