CoA-CES-2014-bugIt seems Android-powered all-in-ones are set to be all the rage this year, with new offerings already announced by LG, Acer, and Lenovo. And now HP has thrown its hat into the ring with the Slate 21 Pro, a slightly enhanced version of last year’s original Slate 21 that’s aimed at business users.

Not only is it an Android-powered PC all by itself, but its HDMI connection allows it to also act as a monitor for other Macs and PCs.

CoA-CES-2014-bug

LAS VEGAS, CES 2014 – LG clearly got the memo that 2014 is set to be the year of wearable electronics — since the South Korean manufacturer has taken advantage of CES 2014 to unveil its new Life Band Touch fitness wristband.

The device — which lets users track physical activity including steps taken, distance covered, and calories output — can be synced with both Android and iOS devices, using Bluetooth 4.0.

EE has already announced that it will be the first U.K. carrier to begin selling the LG G Flex starting next month, but those who want to obtain the device unlocked, without a contract, can now pre-order one from retailer Expansys. They’ll probably need some time to save up for it, though, because it’s priced at a whopping £700 ($1,151).

Earlier today, Verizon posted some official update documents for an upcoming OTA upgrade for the scaled-down variant of LG’s current flagship smartphone of 2013, the G2. The paperwork reveals that the handset is set to receive software version VS98012B which is a minor maintenance update that brings a multitude of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.

BlackBerry has struck a deal with LG that will see BBM pre-installed on its future Android-powered smartphones. The G Pro Lite, which offers an “optimized BBM experience” and will go on sale “soon” in markets around the world, will be the first device with BBM out-of-the-box.
