Motorola’s latest handsets continue to be an incredible success worldwide, helping the company sell more than 10 million handsets during the third quarter of 2014.

It’s a record for the Moto maker, which saw its revenue reach new highs during Q3. Lenovo, which acquired Motorola from Google last year, said it was able to beat investor expectations for smartphone sales, which were already more than doubled for this quarter.

Lenovo wants to shake up the affordable notebook market by launching the cheapest Chromebook we’ve seen to date, according to sources in its supply chain. The Chinese company is said to be targeting a price tag under $170, and it will turn to budget processors in order to keep costs low.

Motorola may have chosen to bow out of the tablet market for the time being, but new owner Lenovo won’t let it rest for too long. The Chinese company reportedly has plans to launch new Android-powered slates under the Motorola brand in an effort to tackle competitors like Apple and Samsung in key markets.

In an effort to make the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus as thin and as light as possible, Apple made some sacrifices. Battery life — particularly on the smaller iPhone 6 — isn’t as good as it could have been, and the rear-facing iSight camera on both devices sticks right out. Could the Cupertino company have done a better job?

Lenovo seems to think so. Leaked pictures of its upcoming Sisley handset show a device that looks almost identical to the iPhone 6 — without the protruding camera and with slightly less unsightly antenna bands.

We’ve been hearing for some time that Google will show of its new Nexus 9 tablet this month, but a launch date for its next-generation Nexus smartphone has remained a mystery. Now a number of sources familiar with the search giant’s plans say you’ll be able to buy a Nexus 6 before the end of October.
