Friday the 13th has long been viewed as an unlucky day in America, so much so that one of America’s top grossing horror franchises was named after the superstitious day. While many people are quick to disregard such mumbo jumbo, I’m betting a few Google employees are now believers. It appears Friday the 13th has struck the Googleplex, and after some late night rain, has turned building 44 into Camp Crystal Lake. Rising from the depths of Crystal Lake is the left-for-dead Eclair, hellbent on enacting revenge upon his fellow fun-loving desserts. After a couple attempts to take out Gingerbread, Eclair is finally stopped by a few brave Google employees willing to get their feet wet. All-in-all it was a one-of-a-kind day at Google — let’s hope they never release a sequel.
Lenovo has introduced its latest tablet this morning in a Youtube video showing off the tablet’s features. The latest out of Lenovo is called the IdeaTab S2109, and while it doesn’t have the best name in the world, the tablet’s specs mixed with Android 4.0 make it a pretty nice offering. If you own a Sprint Nexus S 4G, you can now officially join the Ice Cream Sandwich club thanks to an update rolling out now. Sprint has announced software update IMM76D (Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich), bringing the much anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich and all of its tasty treats:
Yesterday, Ice Cream Sandwich was supposed to roll out to Motorola’s RAZR and RAZR MAXX on Verizon, according to a shot of Best Buy’s internal system. However as you’ve probably noticed, April 4th passed with no update in sight. Today we have another look at Best Buy’s internal systems, which confirms that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the RAZR and RAZR MAXX has been delayed.
Samsung’s Galaxy 2 tablets (7.0 and 10.1) were originally scheduled to launch in the UK in March, but seeing as March has come and gone, it appears they have been delayed. A Samsung associate has confirmed the delay and points to Android 4.0 as the culprit. According to the associate, Samsung needed more time to work on the Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android mobile operating system. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is now scheduled to hit store in the UK sometime this month with a global rollout to follow.
