HTC Sense 6.0

HTC will announce the 2014 HTC One in a few hours from now and has even launched Sense 6.0 applications in anticipation of the smartphone’s arrival. However, older HTC smartphones could soon get a taste of the latest user interface if a new leak is to be believed. It is believed that the 2013 HTC One, the One Max, One Mini as well as the Butterfly S will be beneficiaries of this update.

The report claims that the original HTC One will start getting the Sense 6.0 update starting from May or June, while the One Mini, One Max and the Butterfly S will follow in a couple of months after that.

There’s no word on whether other midrange offerings will receive this UI update at the moment, but the list only mentions the aforementioned devices.

Sense 6.0 will bring quite a lot of changes compared to Sense 5.5 including a newer BlinkFeed homescreen along with better performance and stability. HTC’s 2013 flagships have already received the Android 4.4 update, so compatibility shouldn’t be a concern at all.

HTC Advantage

As rumored over the past several days, HTC has finally confirmed its new HTC Advantage program in the U.S. This includes a lot of perks and bonuses for new customers of HTC flagships like the One, One mini, and the One max — including free repairs for cracked displays.

During an AMA on Reddit, the HTC U.S. Product Team announced that the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for both the One Max and One Mini is already in development and should start rolling out as early as March for the Max and April for the Mini.
