Google’s making it easier to support local developers down under with a new “Made in Australia” collection in Google Play. The section highlights homegrown apps and games, and features titles like the wonderful Pocket Casts from ShiftyJelly, and Jetpack Joyride from Halfbrick Studios.

Google has revived its official YouTube app for Google TV more than a month after it was pulled from the Play Store. The search giant today rolled out a new update that adds customizable closed captions, better SafeSearch, and improved stability.

Galaxy-Note-3-KitKat

Google’s next Android 4.4 KitKat update is already out there in the wild and running on the Nexus 5, according to a new Google Code bug report for Chromium. The release sports build number “KTU65,” and it’s thought that this will be the release that fixes Android’s battery-draining camera bug.

Google Search received a pretty nifty update in the Play Store yesterday, which brings some great new additions to Google Now, including the ability for users to take a photograph or record a video without even having to touch their smartphone or tablet. All they have to do is start the Search by saying ‘OK Google Now’ from their home screen on any KitKat device running the latest Google Now interface, then say ‘open the camera’.
