Nokia Normandy, Nokia’s first Android-powered smartphone, has appeared on a Vietnamese retailer’s website ahead of its official debut. The much-anticipated device is expected to show its face for the first time at MWC next month, and it could launch with support for a number of Google services — including the Google Play Store.

The South Korean government has ruled that smartphone users must be allowed to remove Android bloatware pre-installed by carriers and handset makers.

Korea’s Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning (MISP) said that these apps are an “inconvenience” to smartphone users, and it has given the likes of Samsung and LG until April to make changes to their software before the new rules are implemented.

Gmail now lets you star contacts in the web app, and if you use an Android phone then those stars will sync across to your mobile address book. They’ll also be added to a special starred section of your contacts list, and sync with your Android Favorites.

The latest Gmail update for Android, that was first announced by Google back in mid-December, is finally rolling out via Google Play. In addition to Out of Office auto-reply, the update adds support for sending any file type, and the ability to print documents wirelessly.
