Samsung is rolling out a new Tizen update for the Gear 2 smartwatch which adds a brand new Blocking Mode and improvements to the S Health app. You now have the ability to disable incoming notifications when you do not want to be disturbed so you’ll no longer be woken up by vibrations in the middle of the night.

Galaxy Gear owners probably feared that their wearables would never see another software update after Samsung announced a second-generation Gear lineup at Mobile World Congress back in February, just five months after the South Korean’s first smartwatch made its debut. I certainly did — but that won’t be the case.

In fact, the original Galaxy Gear won’t just get a software update; it’s going to get a whole new operating system.

A new revelation has spilled the beans on the hardware powering the Samsung Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo smartwatches. It has been confirmed that the two new wearable devices come with a dual core Exynos 3250 chipset under the hood clocked at 1 GHz. This is in comparison to the 800 MHz chip found in the Galaxy Gear from last September.
