Samsung-Wallet

Samsung Wallet, the new Passbook-like virtual wallet service that was unveiled at Mobile World Congress back in February, has begun appearing on select Samsung devices in Korea and the United States. It’s currently compatible with the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Note 10.1, and the Galaxy S II HD LTE.

On Friday evening, Samsung announced the availability of its second generation TecTiles NFC tags. TecTiles are tiny writable NFC tags, that can be programmed to trigger various actions on a smartphone, and now they’re compatible with the Galaxy S4.

Back in April, we heard Samsung was planning a “ruggedized” version of its new Galaxy S4 that would be both dust and water resistant, and considerably stronger than the original. Now that device, called the Galaxy S4 Active, has been leaked ahead of its official release.

Itching to get the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update on your Samsung Galaxy S III? Well today could be your lucky day. A pre-release version of the software has been leaked online, allowing Galaxy S III owners to get the latest Jelly Bean features in advance of Samsung’s official release.

The software comes with a long list of new features — some of which are currently only available on the Galaxy S4 (officially) — plus some user interface tweaks and other improvements.

Whilst we await the release of Android 4.3, some application developers have begun to optimize their apps to work on Bluetooth 4.0. Fitbit is the latest company to optimize their app for Bluetooth 4.0, and now it’s available to download on Android… more specifically the Samsung Galaxy S4.
