iFixit performed a customary teardown of the second-generation Oculus Rift developer kit this week, and upon removing the headset’s LCD display, they discovered something unexpected — an actual Galaxy Note 3 front panel, complete with Samsung logo and cutouts for a headset speaker and home button.

LG has already confirmed that it has not been asked to produce a new Nexus smartphone for Google — and that’s because the search giant has teamed up with Motorola instead, according to a new report. Despite selling Motorola to Lenovo last year, Google has reportedly asked the Moto X maker to build a Nexus 6 “phablet” with a much larger display.

After being killed by Google and nearly disappearing from all the popular Android devices released last year, microSD card slots have made a comeback in all the major devices unveiled this year. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 4 will boast a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, according to information hidden in the South Korean company’s own website. Mentions of the device were buried in a user agent profile, which confirms its model number and super sharp 2560×1440 resolution.

Samsung will unveil its next-generation Galaxy Note on September 3, just days before IFA 2014 kicks off in Berlin, according to sources familiar with the South Korean company’s plans. Invitations are expected to go out in late August, and it’s an event phablet fans will want to keep a close eye on.
