I’m definitely going to end up lactose intolerant by the end of CES. We fully expected to see plenty of tablets running Ice Cream Sandwich, but how about a TV? I thought it possible, and even made some bold predictions, but I didn’t expect to see something announced so soon. Lenovo made a pre-CES announcement regarding what could very well be the world’s first Smart TV powered by the Android 4.0 OS. They’re calling it the K91, and it is the world’s first smart TV powered by QualComm’s 8060 Snapdragon dual core CPU and running Android 4.0. There’s plenty to love about this Ice Cream Sandwich TV and we’ll let you know about it after the break.

We knew this would be the year of the quad-core at CES, and blasting right out of the gate was Acer, showing off it quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 Iconia Tab. At the end of their press event, Acer snuck in an unnamed Acer Iconia Tab which we found out later was the Iconia A700. The A700 is expected to feature a 10.1″ 1920 x 1080 resolution screen, NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3, dual cameras, microSD slot, HDMI port, a thin body, and Android 4.0. There hasn’t been an official press release yet, and other specs remain a mystery, but if Acer’s press event sets the tone for the rest of CES, we can expect lots of quad-core Ice Cream Sandwich tablets, Ultrabooks, and more cloud-storage.

CES will bring out all the big players in the mobile processor game, each ready to flaunt the power, speed, and overall performance of their mobile processing chips. We’re going to give you a look at a few of the major players and what they plan to bring to the CES table. This year’s buzz word should be “quad-core,” and we’re hoping to see plenty of it (hopefully on phones).

Samsung recently told us that the Galaxy Note would be coming to the U.S. sometime this year, but which carrier would be getting it remained a mystery. There were rumors of AT&T getting the Note and we now have some compelling evidence to suggest so. Apparently an accessory maker sent out some press emails outing the AT&T Galaxy Note, as they advertised being the first to carry accessories for the device. Of course that statement was soon retracted (and someone probably lost their job) but I’m now pretty confident the AT&T Galaxy Note exists.

How do you make Corning Gorilla Glass Stronger? Not sure, but we’re going to see how next week at CES. Corning has announced its plans to unveil its Gorilla Glass 2 product, which I’m now calling King Kong Glass. Corning hasn’t given any specifics (saving those for CES) about what is new in this glass sequel, but I’m sure it’s going to be good. Corning revolutionized damage-resistant cover glass for consumer electronic devices and has been featured in more than 30 major brands. The Gorilla glass in my OG DROID has been scratched, dropped, and abused over and over — and that’s just from my 3 year old. It’s withstood many of drops, and I have complete faith in whatever future products they release.
