When Android 4.2 dropped, those lucky enough to be privy to the update also received a convenient update to their Gmail app. Goodies such as pinch-to-zoom, swipe-to-delete, auto-fit messages, and more were dangled in the face of the less worthy and only available to the select 1%. But not anymore! Well… not anymore for those running Android 4.0 and up.

Apple’s App Store has been the undisputed revenue king since its inception, however, its once enormous lead is now quickly shrinking. That leading edge over Android is an argument that’s becoming moot as the Play’s revenue continues to grow at a ravenous rate. According to App Annie, an industry leader in app store analytics and marketing, Google Play’s revenues have skyrocketed 311% in the last year, compared to the App Store’s more conservative 12.9%.

Back in July, Sega announced it would be bringing the classic Jet Set Radio to Android and iOS. Today, they made good on that promise, and if you head over to the Play store, you’ll find Jet Set Radio tagged at $4.99.

Rovio is gearing up to release its first new episode for their most recent hit, Angry Birds Star Wars. This new episode includes our favorite snowy planet Hoth, chock full of pig driven AT-AT walkers. The update is set to go live sometime tomorrow and should keep you Rebel Alliance Angry Birds lovers busy for a bit.

Google has recently updated the review system for the Google Play store by linking all reviews to a users Google+ account. While this move is sure to incur backlash from privacy proponents and angry trolls, I’m all for it and feel it creates a more respectable app review system that I can trust.
