BBM-BlackBerry-Messenger

I don’t think I’ve ever downloaded an app that comes with an instruction manual, but it seems BlackBerry felt the need to create one for its upcoming BBM releases for Android and iOS. We’re expecting the apps themselves to arrive any day now, but the user guides have been leaked and they are already available for reading online.

Google is pushing out a silent over-the-air update to all its Chromecast units, bringing some much-needed bug fixes and optimizations.

Chromecast has now been upgraded to version 12940, which introduces “better discovery of Chromecast devices,” as well as “improvements to stability when using Google Play Movies.”

Vine-Android

Vine for Android has been updated to add support for mentions and hashtag auto-complete — features that were introduced to the iOS app back in April. The update is available to download now from Google Play for devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above.

Google Now for Android is now even more useful thanks to a handful of new cards that have been added this week. You can now get car rental information, concert tickets, and NCAA football scores — and there’s even an awesome commute sharing card that’ll let you inform loved ones that you’re on your way home when you leave work.

There have also been some improvements to existing cards, including those for public transit and TV.

Just one week after announcing its first Android-powered flip phone, Samsung has today announced another one! It’s called the Galaxy Golden, and it’s slightly more advanced than the Hennessy, with larger displays, a faster processor, a better camera, and a more recent version of Android.

It also has a number of special features, including a built-in pedometer and a business card reader.
