LG-Chromebase

LG has today unveiled its new Chromebase all-in-one PC — its first desktop PC powered by Google’s Chrome OS operating system. It boasts a 21.5-inch 1080p display, an Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, and it will be on show at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month.

Back in September, Google showcased a relatively impressive range of new Haswell-powered Chromebook’s, which we have not heard much more about, until now that it is. Yesterday, Acer unveiled a revamped model of its current Chromebook, the C720P, which retails with a budget-friendly price tag of $299.

Acer CEO JT Wang has announced his decision to resign from the consumer electronics company following poor financial results and struggling PC sales. Wang will step down from the CEO position on January 1, but will remain chairman until the second quarter of 2014.

Acer president Jim Wong will become its new CEO.

Chromebook New

Yesterday, Google together with Intel officially unveiled their latest Chromebook variants, all of which are powered by the latest Haswell processors, and are due to be announced over the course of the next few months. Among the manufacturers adding to the current rage of Chrome-powered devices are HP, Acer, Toshiba and ASUS.
