We already know the Galaxy S5 is likely to sport a 16-megapixel camera, thanks to a sample photo that was published on Flickr earlier today. But Samsung looks set to make other changes to improve its photography capabilities, too.

The South Korean company has today teased a new LED flash module on its blog that “will be used in the next Galaxy smartphone.”

A sample image taken with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S5 all but confirms that the new handset will feature a 16-megapixel real-facing camera. The otherwise boring photograph was taken with a “Samsung-SM-G900A,” according to its accompanying EXIF data, and it boasts a 5312×2988 resolution.

According to renowned source of HTC leaks, LlabTooFeR, HTC’s latest Desire 8 smartphone could find a home in the U.S. soon — thanks to its support for AT&T’s and Sprint’s wireless bands.

andyrubin

Apple may call Andy Rubin — one of the original creators of the Android platform — during next month’s Apple v. Samsung trial, according to court documents.

Rubin left the Android team to work on Google’s robotics projects in March 2013. Should he be called to the stand during the forthcoming trial, he would be cross-examined on the development of Android features which Apple claims infringe on it own patents. He may also be asked to discuss “Google documents relating to such development.”

If Apple calls Rubin, this will be his first time testifying in the various legal battles between Apple and Samsung.
