The Xperia Z2 camera is by no means inadequate but that does not mean it cannot be improved further. An XDA developer — Rizal Lovins — has released a Cybershot camera mod for the Z2 which further boosts the imaging capabilities of Sony’s latest flagship.

HTC-One-M8-blur-adjust

HTC has updated its Gallery app to give One M8 owners the ability to adjust Ufocus blur levels manually when editing their images. The update also brings Dimension Plus and Pan 360 to last year’s One M7, and it’s available to download now from Google Play.

The Moto X “Try Then Buy” promotion that allowed customers to sample the device for two weeks for just 1¢ has now ended after Motorola “sold all the Moto X phones allotted for this promotion.” The offer went live just this morning, but Motorola did state that it would only be available “while quantities last.”

It’s not all bad news, though; a new 64GB version of the Moto X is available now.

The Cyanogen team has pushed out its latest CyanogenMod 11 M7 upgrade for more than 50 devices. The update brings an improved Theme Chooser and Calculator app, the ability to secure apps with a passcode, and improvements for Bluetooth and low-memory devices.

All is fair in love, war, and smartphone launch dates!

According to a new report, Samsung is rushing ahead with its Samsung Galaxy F smartphone in order to release it at the same time as Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 6, which is set to debut this September.

The Galaxy F — which will be the premium model of Samsung’s flagship Android phone — will feature major improvements in screen resolution, processing speed and the camera, with 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution on its 5.3-inch screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor under the hood, and a 16MP rear-facing camera with OIS.
