BARCELONA, MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2012 — With their new One line-up of devices, HTC is trying to come up with a flagship line of phones that is as synonymous with top-of-the-line tech and high-end quality as Samsung’s Galaxy or Google’s Nexus devices. We had a chance to take all three of their new HTC One phones for a spin, and came away ultimately impressed.


It’s been a long time coming but we finally have an official word on the ASUS PadFone and when to expect it on shelves. While no exact date was given (or price), ASUS announced that the PadFone would be coming in April. This 3-in-1 mobile solution is one of a kind in a mobile world that’s all too familiar. Its unique design allows users to dock their phone into the tablet for a seamless transition from the small screen to the big and vice versa. The PadFone has gone through some changes on its long journey and now features:


NVIDIA had a slew of new games to show off for their Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 quad-core platform at Mobile World Congress today. They’re pretty proud of these titles and have been working with the developers for years to ensure optimization. Mobile gaming is slowly creeping up on console gaming and these titles are proof of how far it has come. You may have noticed that Google likes to name its Android versions after delicious treats. Starting with Cupcake, Google has followed alphabetically with Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, and Ice Cream Sandwich. Are you drooling yet? Up next is the letter J and its been rumored that the next version will be called Jelly Bean. It makes sense considering the lack of J-lettered treats and it makes even more sense thanks to Google’s private meeting area at MWC.


ZTE isn’t your household manufacturer name but prepare to hear it a lot as they unveiled quite a large lineup at MWC. Most notable is their flagship ZTE Era. The Era joins the quad-core cool kids’ table by rocking NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 processor. Interestingly enough, it also features NVIDIA’s Icera 450 HSPA+ modem. Other specs include:
