The first solely Sony branded smartphone has begun shipping out to retailers and carriers across the globe. The Xperia S marks the first of phones to go out since Sony acquired Ericsson and although the photos still show the Ericsson logo on the back, I have to assume it’s since been removed.

There’s a pretty sweet deal going for anyone looking to pick up an unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus. For about 13 more hours, the Daily Steals site is offering an unlocked 16GB GSM Galaxy Nexus for the insanely low price of $459. Okay, it’s not “insanely low,” but it’s still a heck-of-a-lot cheaper than the usual $700 price tag.

After a security vulnerability within Google Wallet was discovered, Google decided to suspend the ability to add a Google prepaid card while they worked on patching things up. Google quickly fixed the issue but decided to hold off on returning the prepaid cards for a bit. I’m happy to announce that Google has finally returned the ability to add prepaid cards but you will have to update to the latest version of Google Wallet to get it. Once you update, you’ll be able to access Google’s prepaid card and any previously unused balance plus a little extra.

XFINITY TV for Android received a minor update today. By minor, I mean no new features have been added. However, those rocking Android 4.0 will see it as a major update considering it adds support for their precious Ice Cream Sandwich devices. Updating apps to support Android 4.0 hasn’t been that big of a priority for some developers and with such a low percentage of Android devices actually running it, I can see why. To be honest, no matter how slow developers are at updating their apps, it’s nothing compared to how slow OEM and carriers are at updating their devices!
