We simply love wallpapers. They’re one of the first changes we make to our Android devices and often represent our moods, interests, or wicked alter egos. Opera’s new web browser based on the WebKit rendering engine is now available in beta form for users with Android devices. The beta gives us a taste of Opera’s first WebKit browser, which comes after the company announced earlier this month that it will be dropping its own Presto rendering engine this year.

There are a number of images making their way around the web this morning that supposedly depict the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S IV. Some believe them to be genuine Samsung renders that have been leaked ahead of the handset’s grand unveiling — but they’re not.

In fact, they’re nothing more than retailer mockups that are being used to promote the device while the official shots are unavailable.

The unlocked Sony Xperia ZL is heading to the United States after being listed on the official Sony Store. The device will be available in three colors — black, red, and white — but Sony hasn’t yet confirmed its price or its release date. It’s thought, however, that the handset will be available “within the next month.”

Bye bye, TweetDeck mobile, we hardly knew ye.

Twitter, the social networking company, purchased TweetDeck, the Twitter application company, back in May of 2011. Today, the Twitter-owned TweetDeck announced that it was discontinuing support for the venerable stand-alone Twitter clients on Android, iOS, and desktop computers via Adobe AIR, ostensibly to concentrate on the TweetDeck web experience.

While many current users of the clients may disagree, Twitter feels that its user base is both better served on the web, and that the decision mirrors the real-time activity of those very same TweetDeck customers.
