Sony is pushing out an update for its Xperia ZL, including the North American unlocked LTE model, bumping it up to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean — the latest Android release. If you wish to update your handset, you’ll have to do so using Sony’s PC Companion app for PC, or Sony Bridge for Mac.

Apple has begun charting iOS adoption figures to help developers establish the percentage of users running different versions of iOS. Google has been doing the same thing for Android developers for some time, and Apple’s chart only highlights the massive difference in fragmentation between the two platforms.

Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy NX, a mirrorless camera aimed at professionals and amateurs alike, at its London Premiere event last night, and now we finally have a full set of specifications and press images to peruse. The Galaxy NX is the first 4G LTE-enabled high-end interchangeable lens camera that runs Android, and it has some impressive internals.

A Samsung insider has been teasing a mysterious prototype smartphone with a uniquely large screen, which is believed to be a possible Galaxy Note successor. Much like earlier prototypes, this latest one features a 6-inch screen accounting for 84% of the front of the device and an incredibly thin bezel.

One of the highlights of Samsung’s London Premiere event that took place last night was the unveiling of the South Korean company’s first dual-OS tablet, the ATIV Q. As the name suggests, the product is part of Samsung’s ATIV line, which primarily has nothing to do with Android. However, on this occasion the goal was to “marry” both Android and Windows together to create the mother of all computing experiences.
