LG has sent out another invitation to its August 7 event in New York, teasing a device identified as the LG G2, presenting its revolutionary new rear buttons. This invitation is very similar to the one we saw 2 weeks ago, however, now we have confirmation that the company will be unveiling its much-anticipated G2 smartphone.

Google’s secret weapon in the TV wars could hardly be more simple: It’s an inexpensive little dongle called Chromecast that’s designed to change the way you watch TV.

Chromecast does that by turning almost any smartphone, tablet or PC into a remote control on steroids. Rather than limiting its audience to those with Android devices, Google hopes to lure customers to Chromecast by working across multiple platforms. The 2-inch dongle plugs into your HDTV and allows users to send videos from iPhones, Androids or laptops via WiFi to almost any TV with an HDMI port, giving users powers similar to Apple’s AirPlay — except it plays nice with strangers.

It’s ridiculously simple. And at only $35, it’s cheap as hell, which is precisely why Google thinks it’s the perfect device to take over your living room.

Earlier today, Google unveiled Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with the new Nexus 7. The company also announced that it has started rolling out the Android 4.3 OTA update for the existing Nexus devices, including the Nexus 4, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus and the 2012 Nexus 7.

If you own a device that is getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update from Google, and cannot wait for the OTA update to land, here is a simple trick to try and manually pull the update from Google’s server.

After Google unveiled the Chromecast earlier today, it sold out in minutes on the Play Store. The $35 dongle just became available for sale on Amazon, and it’s Prime-eligible, which is a nice plus.

Snag one (or more) of these fast before they sell out again. Google is bundling three free months of Netflix with each purchase, so it basically pays for itself. Chromecast streams video, music, photos, and more from any iOS, Android, or PC device running the Chrome browser to a HDTV over HDMI.
