HTC is extremely proud of their new One series of devices and simply can’t wait to let you play with one. They’ve decided to take their One series on a world tour and give lucky citizens an early hands-on to experience for themselves just how amazing HTC’s new flagship devices are. This marketing event seems like fun but I’m pretty sure consumers already have hands-on opportunities with devices before deciding on a purchase. I guess it’s better to have an HTC representative showing you what the device is capable of versus a store rep who probably could care less.

There seems to be a myriad of fitness options for those who live in the digital age. There’s wrist bands, watches, and of course apps. The latest app to hit the market Play Store comes to us from Fitbit. Fitbit has made quite a name for themselves with their common sense approach to fitness along with their inspiring products and services. Mr. Blurry Cam (no he doesn’t really exist) has finally captured the mysterious DROID Fighter (the device showing up in leaked Verizon documents) and it appears to be extremely similar to the overly marketed DROID RAZR. In fact, other than its lack of capacitive buttons, I’d swear I was looking at a DROID RAZR MAXX. Really Moto? This is all you could come up with? Apparently the DROID Fighter will have a slightly larger 4.6 inch HD display, on-screen buttons only (like the Galaxy Nexus). and the same ginormous 3300mAh battery as the DROID RAZR MAXX. Meh…

The Humble Bundle is back again, this time bringing five games never-before-seen on Android. If you’re wondering what Humble Bundle is, it’s a pay-what-you-want bundle of multi-platform, DRM-free, and independently developed games. Not only do customers get to pick their own price, but they also get to allocate their payment by deciding how much goes to the developers, how much goes to charity, and how much goes to Humble Bundle (which pays for the bandwidth and development of the promotion). They usually offer a slew of games for the price of “whatever” and then throw in a bonus game for those willing to pay more than the average customer (which isn’t that expensive).

Mobile technology continues to push forward at the expense of battery life. It seems as if the battery industry is moving at a turtle’s pace while everything else is in hyperdrive. We’ve been forced to rely on extra-wide extended batteries, spare batteries, and plugs galore just to get us through a heavy day’s use. From shutting down WiFi to adjusting screen brightness, we’re always looking for ways to extend the life of our batteries. Unfortunately, a study performed by computer scientists at Perdue University discovered that our desire for free apps is hurting our efforts to conserve battery. You may be thinking “Duh!” but I bet you’ll be surprised to learn that up to 75% of the energy used by free versions of Android apps is spent serving up ads or tracking and uploading user data.
