Honeycomb is on the verge of extinction as yet another Android tablet prepares to be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 on Verizon has finally been approved for the update and users of the device should start to see it within the next week or so.

Rovio sent out a tweet today teasing their “next big thing” (who do they think they are… Samsung?). The tweet links to a Tumblr page featuring an animated gif of a Jedi Angry bird holding a lightsaber (the one you see above). Other than the Star Wars reference, there doesn’t seem to be much information. Whatever they have planned, it looks like it will be going down in New York on October 8th, at 10am EST as the only information listed is as follows:

It appears Sony’s Xperia Tablet S isn’t as “splash proof” or “water resistant” as they claim. Those buzzwords are now coming back to haunt Sony as sales of the Xperia Tablet S have been halted due to a manufacturing flaw that actually makes the tablets susceptible to water damage. Quite the opposite of what they are touting.

Last month, 3D printing company Cubify, appealed to our affinity for Android by introducing a custom Bugdroid creation webapp to their site. It’s really cool and allows customers to dive in and choose from a variety of customizations to create their very own personal Bugdroid collectible. If you’re not really the creative type or feel the price of a custom Bugdroid is just a little too steep, you can now choose from one of Cubify’s own set of 25 3D-printed Bugdroids.

We simply love wallpapers. They’re one of the first changes we make to our Android devices and often represent our moods, interests, or wicked alter egos. They’re as unique as the individuals who use them and while some people pick one and stick with it, others change them more often than a teenager’s Facebook status. Each day we’re going to feature a free wallpaper for you to download and use on your Android device. Depending on your device, you may want to use your favorite photo editing software to resize the image for a better fit. Once that’s done, apply and enjoy. Your homescreen can thank us later. Cheers!
