Up next in Google’s series of ‘Get to known your Nexus 7’ (that’s what I’m calling it) videos is Google Play. As I’ve said before, these are introductory videos, but great for someone who is just becoming familiar with Android and the Nexus 7.

Google continues its series of introductory videos for new users looking to become acquainted with Android and the Nexus 7. Their latest video is a bit shorter than I would prefer but I guess the general idea is to show off a few of the awesome Google apps that come standard on the Nexus 7 (and most every other Android device).

We sometimes forget that there’s a whole world of users out there experiencing Android for the very first time. Not everyone is a die hard Android cultist, or tech junkie for that matter, and owning a Nexus 7 could very well be a daunting task for some. That’s why Google has made a quick “Getting Started” video to help first timers become acquainted with the Google Nexus 7 set-up process.

Okay, so I was being sarcastic about the clever name. Nevertheless, the joint venture announced by Redbox and Verizon back in February has finally given birth to an official name, and that name is Redbox Instant by Verizon. Together, Verizon and Redbox plan on bringing yet another video on-demand streaming and download service to the market. As long as Verizon doesn’t screw it up with pricing, the Redbox kiosk/streaming combo could be a real winner.

If you happen to be a father, like myself, then Google’s first Nexus 7 commercial will surely hit home. It’s a perfect blend of nature, technology, and the undying bond between a father and son. I, myself, do a lot of backyard camping with my kids, and while some people will argue this isn’t “real camping,” it’s more about the time I get to spend with my kids than it is about anything else. They have a blast and we use our Android devices to enhance the experience, not sabotage it.
