Just a couple of days ago, the folks over at iFixit did a complete strip down of the new HTC One (M8) revealing all its internals and mentioning that the handset is extremely difficult to repair. Now, a Russian website has managed to disassemble the One’s (M8) chief competitor — the Galaxy S5 — revealing all its internal in their full glory.

Like a lot of modern smartphones, the HTC One M8 is “extremely difficult” to repair. That’s according to the fine folks over at iFixit, who performed one of their customary teardowns on the new flagship shortly after its release on Tuesday.

It’s easier to get into than its predecessor, which received the worst repairability score of any smartphone iFixit has pulled apart — but things get much more difficult once you’re inside.

Google’s latest flagship tablet, the Nexus 7 2nd generation, is the latest victim to receive the teardown treatment. It doesn’t take much to strip the device, in fact, all that is needed is a Phillips #0 screwdriver, a set of plastic opening tools, and a spudger. Once you peel off the casing you’re presented with a collection of the latest hardware which powers the Nexus 7… Here’s a detailed insight of all the components that are packed inside.

On Thursday, we printed two images taken from an FCC filing for a Chromecast unit with its casing removed, we didn’t have much to go on at the time in terms of specific components other than the Marvell DE3005 chip, and the Azurewave chip which handles Wi-Fi connectivity at 2GHz but now that customer’s have finally started receiving the units they pre-ordered, curiosity has got the better of one company who has now disassembled the unit in order to have a detailed poke around the device’s hardware.
