Today T-Mobile announced a slew of new markets now able to take advantage of their 4G HSPA+ speeds while also highlighting their plans for the future. While T-Mobile admits their priority now lies in the preparation of their future LTE network, they will continue to improve their HSPA+ network with the possibility of eventually having 84Mbps theoretical download speeds. Since no one can predict the future, we’ll stick to what’s going on right now and that is the eight new cities with HSPA+:
Last month T-Mobile announced they would be launching the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G by “late March” and while that plan still stands, we now have a more concrete date. According to T-Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will hit “select” stores on Wednesday March 21st followed by a full release on March 28th. The mid-range affordable myTouch series has passed hands a couple of times and it appears the next installment will be manufactured by Chinese company Huawei. Images of these future myTouch devices popped up over at PocketNow and are identical minus one having a physical keyboard. Dubbed the U8680 and U8730, these two T-Mobile bound devices are said to be rocking Gingerbread and a WVGA (480×800) resolution display. Other than that, not much is revealed.
The heavily backed Isis mobile payment system is set to take on Google Wallet this summer and will be available to 100 Million U.S. cardholders. Chase, Capital One and Barclaycard have all signed on with Isis to enable their credit, debit and prepaid cards to be placed into the Isis Mobile Wallet. Isis is a joint venture created by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless and is the reason why Google Wallet was blocked on the Verizon Galaxy Nexus (which is anti-competitive IMO but we have a fix for that).
Earlier we told you about the Samsung Blaze S 4G showing up in a T-Mobile accessory sheet and while I thought we were lacking information, it appears there is plenty floating around.
