While smartphone have really taken off since Apple launched the iPhone back in 2007, believe it or not, traditional feature phones have remained the biggest sellers worldwide. That was until the first quarter of 2013, when smartphones out-shipped feature phones for the first time ever.

Of the 418.6 million cellphones sold during the first three months of the year, 51.6% of them were smartphones, according to new figures from IDC.

Still waiting for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to arrive on your Sony Xperia smartphone? Well, you’re not the only one, but there is some good news. Sony has confirmed that it’s now in the final stages of preparing Jelly Bean for a slew of Xperia devices, and the company promises more news this week.

Sky-Go-Android

Sky Go has today been updated to add support for the latest flagships from Samsung, Sony, HTC, and Motorola. The app now works on the Galaxy S4, the HTC One, the Xperia Z, and the RAZR HD.

Motorola-colors

Motorola is expected to announce a new Android flagship called the X Phone sometime this year, and recent rumors suggest that it’ll be worth getting excited about — particularly if you like pretty colors. According to an unnamed source at Motorola, the device will be available “in over 20 different colors.”

The new Sony Xperia Z looks to be off to a terrific start, with analysts reporting that 4.6 million units have been sold in just 40 days. Some of that success is being attributed to the fact that Sony announced the device before competitors like HTC and Samsung had a chance to throw their latest flagships into the mix.
