Sony-Xperia-Z-ZL

Leaked press shots have revealed two new Android handsets from Sony Mobile ahead of their official unveiling. They’re called the Xperia Z and the Xperia ZL, but you’ll probably know them best by their code names, Yuga and Odin, which is how they’ve been named in recent reports. Both devices are expected to make their big debut at CES next week.

NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor powers some of today’s most impressive Android devices, and you certainly wouldn’t call it dated. But the company has another processor up its sleeve that blows the Tegra 3 right out of the water. A slide, purportedly detailing the next-generation Tegra 4 (nicknamed “Wayne”), has been leaked — and it reveals that NVIDIA plans to bring a “Quad Core Eagle” CPU with 72-core graphics to your smartphone.

Last Tuesday, a rumor surfaced regarding an exciting new Android handset from Sony that will reportedly offer a 5-inch 1080p display like the HTC Droid DNA. Called the Sony Xperia Yuga, the device is expected to debut in early 2013, but images of its prototype have already surfaced.

Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo has unveiled its latest smartphone today, and it’s set to give high-end Android handsets a run for their money. It’s called the Find 5, and it packs a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and 2GB of RAM. And the impressive specifications don’t stop there.

This looks awesome.

HTC announced the J Butterfly, the world’s first smartphone to boast a 1080p display, back in October, and fans have been itching to get their hands on the Taiwanese company’s latest handset. The thing is, the J Butterfly is exclusive to Japan. Those in the U.S. now have an equivalent in the Droid DNA, but what about the rest of the world?

Well, HTC just announced the Butterfly (without the ‘J’) — the international version of its full HD smartphone. It’s very similar to the J Butterfly — both in design and specifications — and it’s going global over the coming weeks and months.
