A possible test photo from the mythical Samsung Galaxy S III showed up on Picasa recently. According to the EXIF data, it was taken with a Samsung GT-I9300 which just happens to be the purported model number of the GS3. The camera appears to be a 8.1MP and the future appears to be blurry. It’s really a bad photo and we’re not going to be to judgmental but… yea.


In the latest patent war saga, a Dutch court ruled that Samsung cannot assert 3G patents against Apple products using Qualcomm’s baseband chips — as Samsung has a licensing deal with the U.S. chipmaker — thus denying their bid to ban the sales of the iPhone and iPad in the Netherlands. However, Samsung didn’t consider the ruling a complete loss as the Hague court also ruled that Samsung could seek damages over the use of Intel chips. While Apple doesn’t use Intel chips, this gives Samsung ammunition against those that do.


The Android developer/hacker community loves a good challenge so when they found out the AT&T Galaxy Note supported T-Mobile’s HSPA+ frequencies, they immediately went to work. Over at XDA they even had a running bounty for the first person to successfully get the AT&T Galaxy Note running on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. It didn’t take that long before user tomin.fhl found a way to get it working and he’s been kind enough to post the instructions for any brave soul willing to take the plunge.


Samsung Galaxy S II users in Europe, Korea, and other select markets around the globe are being treated to Ice Cream Sandwich thanks to an update that began rolling out last night. Unfortunately U.S. users will have to sit tight as it hasn’t landed in the states just yet. It’s great to see devices being updated and we welcome all new users to the exclusive Ice Cream Sandwich club. Samsung also announced they would be updating a slew of devices to a newer Gingerbread firmware:


Last month T-Mobile announced they would be launching the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G by “late March” and while that plan still stands, we now have a more concrete date. According to T-Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will hit “select” stores on Wednesday March 21st followed by a full release on March 28th.
