Orange-Purple-Galaxy-S4-mini

British smartphone retailer Carphone Warehouse has today unveiled three new additions to its Galaxy S4 mini lineup in pink, orange, and purple. They’re identical to the original Galaxy S4 mini under the hood, and they’re available on all of the U.K.’s major carriers from £21 ($34) a month.

Samsung is in the process of pushing out the much-anticipated over-the-air (OTA) update to all the unlocked Galaxy S III and Note II models located in Canada. This upgrade brings Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a newer version of the TouchWiz user interface to the devices, as well as a multitude of bug fixes and speed optimizations.

As BlackBerry fights to get its new platform off the ground and save its smartphone business, Samsung — along with other smartphone makers — has been quick to take advantage of its struggle.

The South Korean company has reportedly expanded its enterprise business and struck a deal to make custom smartphones for the likes of Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Officials say that it is actively targeting “top-tier marketing-driven firms” which it believes may benefit from its smartphone solutions.

In an effort to keep up with Google Hangouts on Android, Samsung has baked SMS and MMS integration into the latest version of its ChatON messaging app. The service will now roll your instant messages and traditional text messages into one conversation, so you only need to keep up with one thread.

The Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 has today started receiving its much-anticipated over-the-air update bringing the latest build of Android 4.4 KitKat. This rollout comes just a matter of days after Google distributed the new software version to its Nexus devices and over a month since KitKat made its public debut alongside the Nexus 5.
