Up until last year, the only popular OEM whose devices were water and dust-resistant was Sony. However, this year there has been an uptick in OEMs making their latest generation of smartphones water resistant and dust proof. The most notable ones include Samsung’s Galaxy S5 with an IP67 rating and the Sony Xperia Z2 with an IP58 rating. Even though the HTC One (M8) does not carry any IP rating, it can still survive under water for around 30 minutes easily.

While some people will tell you that tablets are “consumption” devices that aren’t fit for real work, I’d say that’s absolute rubbish. Add a physical keyboard and the right apps, and your tablet is perfectly capable of replacing your notebook computer for a variety of everyday tasks.
I often use my iPad Air for work — and in many ways it makes me more productive. And now Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 owners can do the same thanks to the new Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio, a protective case with a built-in physical keyboard.

Over the past month or so, I’ve been asking friends and colleagues whether they’ll be choosing the HTC One M8 or the Samsung Galaxy S5 when it’s time to upgrade their smartphone. A number of the responses have surprised me. Rather than picking the latter — which I assumed most would — several told me they would be waiting for the LG G3 instead.
That wait will end on May 27, when LG will announce its new flagship at events held simultaneously in six cities around the world.

Earlier today, Google updated its Galaxy S4 GPE listing on the Play Store with a picture of the Galaxy S5, thus suggesting that a Google Play Edition of Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone is on the way. Unfortunately, all the other information on the listing page remains identical to that of the S4, but seeing as the search engine giant has already made the first move, the full listing should be updated shortly.
