Moto-E-XT1025

If you thought Motorola revolutionised the low-end smartphone market with the Moto G, wait until you get your hands on the Moto E. The company has managed to hit another home run with the Moto E, which is already selling like hot cakes in India and Brazil.

For its price, the Moto E offers much more than what you can expect, and even beats the Galaxy S5 in terms of UI performance. Like any other recent Motorola phone, rooting the Moto E is pretty easy, provided you are ready to unlock the bootloader and void its warranty in the process.

One-M8-back

The new HTC One (M8) went on sale immediately after its announcement in the United States. Initial reports suggest that the handset is selling very well and it is looks like HTC might have finally hit the jackpot. Just like its predecessor, rooting the new HTC One (M8) is a pretty straightforward process if you know your way around ADB and Fastboot.

Before you start with the rooting guide below, keep in mind that the steps below will work with all the variants of the One (M8) that come with an unlockable bootloader. This means that owners of certain carrier branded US variants (hint: Verizon) of One are out of luck and need to look for other ways of gaining root access on their handset. 

HTC-One-M8-Google-Play-Edition

If you live outside of the United States, then you don’t get the option to buy the new HTC One M8 Google Play Edition. That’s a shame if you prefer a pure Android experience over HTC’s Sense 6 user interface — but you can now take matters into your own hands.

The official Google Play Edition ROM is now available to download, and with a bit of hackery, it can be flashed to the regular M8.

Xperia Z2 Tablet

We recently saw the Sony Xperia Z2 getting root access even before it hit the markets. And now, its bigger sibling the Xperia Z2 Tablet has received similar treatment along with a ClockworkMod based custom recovery being flashed onto the tablet.

Last week, developers jcase and beaups managed to gain root access on the HTC One (M8) including the Verizon variant. Less than a week later, S-Off has been achieved on the device as well allowing users to flash custom ROMs and kernels.
