Sonic Episode II HC

Today’s choice for our weekly Wednesday’s Must Have Game column is entitled Sonic 4 Episode II, which originally launched for PlayStation 2 back in May, 2012, and has since been digitally remastered for use on all Android-powered smartphones and tablets.

For today’s Tuesday Tweak, we’re focusing our attention on a very flexible third-party launcher named Apex, which incidentally recently passed the five million installations milestone. This application supplies its users with the ability to completely alter the appearance of the software on their device and is available to download on any smartphone or tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher.

Google is in the midst of pushing out an exciting compatibility update for it’s official Gmail application for Android via the Play Store. This upgrade bring users the ability to save files directly to Google Drive, improved support for right-to-left languages and faster access to the side navigation menu.

This week’s app, My Data Manager, made its debut appearance on the Google Play Store last year and has been regarded as one of the most elegant, user-friendly, secure and feature-packed third-party data monitoring clients ever since. So, consequently, we’ve decided to bring it its very own review here at Cult of Android.

Galaxy-S5-Google-Play-Edition

There are lots of things I love about the Galaxy S5, but one thing that lets it down is its TouchWiz software. Samsung bakes in so many tweaks and modifications that it’s noticeably slower than stock Android, and filled to the brim with stuff (crap) no one ever wants or needs.

Fortunately, that won’t be the case with the Google Play Edition device, which will run pure Android 4.4 KitKat exactly as Google intended. And after picking up its Bluetooth SIG certificate today, it should be too long before this device hits the Play Store.
