The ninjas are back, but this time, their plans for unboxing Google’s Nexus 7 are foiled by Dr. Paul (aka UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre). If you’re not familiar with the ninja unboxings, they’re a sight to see. I’m not a UFC follower so this one is a little on the weird side for me, but we’ll let you be the judge.

Good news Android fans: tickets to the annual Big Android BBQ are now on sale! What’s the Big Android BBQ? Well… picture a backyard BBQ full of people who all share your affinity for Android and then multiply it by a googol. You spend countless hours reading Android blogs, listening to podcasts, and interacting via forums, hangouts, etc. and the Big Android BBQ is a way for us all to actually hang out, eat some great BBQ, and talk Android (or whatever else comes to mind).

Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE customers will be happy to know an update is being pushed out to not only fix the ongoing Google Wallet issues, but to also fix a variety of other pesky bugs. The Google Wallet fix is refreshing, especially considering Sprint has been the only carrier to official endorse Google’s mobile payment system.

Google recently dropped quite the candy bomb on HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus owners. It appears that Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) has already begun rolling out and will continue to hit HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus devices over the next week. Great news for everyone, better news for HSPA+ GNEX owners.

How many of you have heard of NFC? NFC is the latest short-range radio communications standard taking the mobile world by storm. In fact, if you have a new Android phone, there’s a good chance it has an NFC chip inside. NFC stands for Near Field Communication, and it’s a standard that allows devices to establish radio communication with each other when brought within close proximity of one another.
