A new report suggests that Microsoft might be looking to bring deeper integration of its Xbox Live app with Android and iOS devices. It currently allows users to compare scores among friends, check out achievements and make some minor changes to the profile. But the folks at Redmond reportedly want to bring deeper support and even cross platform gaming.

New smartphones that run both Android and Windows Phone will start shipping by June, thanks to Indian handset maker Karbonn Mobiles.

The company will launch a series of Windows Phone 8 smartphones in the coming months after signing a new licensing deal with Microsoft, then its dual-booting handsets will follow in the summer, reports The Times of India.

Nokia announced its first Android-powered smartphones at Mobile World Congress earlier this week, but at first glance, you might not think they were running Google’s platform. Windows Phone is over three years old now, but its app catalog still looks pretty slim when compared to rival offerings from Apple and Google. In an effort to plug the gap, Microsoft could allow Windows and Windows Phone users to run Android apps — just like BlackBerry 10 does.
