MetroPCS has broadened its horizons for the second time this year by expanding its LTE connectivity service to 15 new markets. The announcement was made in a single press release on the carrier’s website yesterday. The newly announced locations mean that the operator now provides 4G coverage in 45 markets across the United States.

AT&T has again broadened its horizons for the second time this month by upgrading and expanding its LTE connectivity services to another 10 additional locations across the U.S., giving the mega-carrier a total of 471 LTE markets nationwide. The announcement was made in a sequential series of press releases on the carrier’s official website.

Google has announced that its latest Android 4.4 KitKat update is rolling out to the Wi-Fi Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013 models) and the Nexus 10 starting today. The update will be available to download over-the-air, and it will deliver all of the new Android features that made their debut on the Nexus 5 late last month.

Back when AT&T first started rolling out its nationwide LTE network in late 2011, it was at least a year behind Verizon. In fact, when the third-gen iPad launched with LTE last year, we were hard pressed to recommend an AT&T model simply because LTE coverage was so lame compared to Verizon.

But things have changed. Thanks to aggressive pushes into new markets, AT&T and Verizon are now pretty much nose-and-nose when total number of LTE markets is compared.

The popular U.S. operator, Verizon, has officially announced its first budget-friendly low-end 7-inch tablet, the Elipsis 7, which will ship running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The slate will be available to purchase from tomorrow Thursday, November 7, with the rather affordable price tag of $250 from the carrier’s official website.
