3D technology has reared its 3-dimensional head inside the hardware of only the bravest of OEMs. HTC was the first to test the waters with their EVO 3D but it failed to impress, receiving only lukewarm reviews. Many have been speculating that the rumored Galaxy S III would include this “gimmicky” tech, however, Samsung confirmed today that it has no plans to manufacture 3D smartphones — period!


Right on schedule, the LG Lucid is now available on Verizon and will cost you $79.99 with a two-year contract. The LG Lucid may not be a hyped-up top-tier powerhouse, but it’s certainly worth a look as it packs a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE. Other specs include:


The LG Lucid will be coming to Verizon in a couple days and packs some decent specs at an affordable price. For $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate, you can have yourself a dual-core 1.2GHz 4G LTE device. Unfortunately is will launch with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) but Verizon is promising an Android 4.0 update at some point. Other specs of the LG Lucid include:


Gameloft has announced that they will be optimizing select titles to take advantage of the glasses-free 3D technology used in the Optimus 3D Max. The LG Optimus 3D Max is set to be released in Korea sometime this month. Upon release, the following optimized titles will be available through LG Smart World:


Verizon today announced a list of devices they expect to receive the Android 4.0 update. Many manufacturers have already confirmed this information but it’s always nice to hear it straight from a carriers mouth. While no official dates have been given, the list includes devices from HTC, Motorola, Samsung and LG.
