Galaxy-Tab-4-Nook

Here’s a partnership you probably weren’t expecting: Samsung has teamed up with Barnes & Noble to launch the new Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. The 7-inch device is almost identical to the original Galaxy Tab 4 — inside and out — but it comes pre-loaded with Nook apps and a custom user interface.

Samsung has teamed up with Amazon to bring its smartphone and tablet owners a custom “Kindle for Samsung” app. Available worldwide to those with a Galaxy device running Android 4.0 and above, the app will offer 12 free books every year through an exclusive Samsung Book Deals promotion.

Speculation surrounding an Amazon Kindle smartphone has been rife for the past few years, but it looks like the device is finally coming to fruition. These images show off a prototype of the upcoming handset, which is claimed to be one of at least two that are currently in development.

The only thing Samsung loves more than copying its competition is mocking them. In a new ad for its Galaxy PRO series tablets, the South Korean company picks on rival tablets to highlights the benefits of its own.

Entitled “It Can Do That,” the one-minute clip pokes fun at iPad’s inability to run multiple apps side-by side; the Surface tablet’s keyboard, mouse, and battery dock; and the Kindle for supposedly being little more than an e-book reader.
