Remember when you used to take the film out of your camera, head to the nearest drugstore and drop it off, do a little shopping or grab a coffee, and then return one hour later to pick up your printed photographs?

This process was fraught with possible problems – you might end up paying to process a blank film, or for prints of out-of-focus, unusable photos – but it was also pretty exciting.

With Printicular, you can now experience all the good parts and none of the bad. The app lets you print your photos at the local Walgreens, and the latest update has added support for Instagram.

I’ve barely met a person or two who love Macs but prefers to run with an Android handset instead of an iPhone. They’re a rare breed, but they’re out there, supposedly. And if you’re a Mac user who has ever been curious about the Google Play store, you’re about to be able to sample the entire buffet thanks to Bluestacks.

This morning Bluestacks announced that the latest version of the Bluestacks mobile app player will support OS X, meaning Mac users will be able to play with almost every Android app available.

One doesn’t see too many battery cases for the Galaxy S3. Unlike the glass-fortress iPhone — for which battery-cases are more numerous than species of bird — the S3’s battery is easily removable, somewhat lessening the usefulness of an external battery. But that didn’t stop iWalk from coming out with the Chameleon Easy, an impossibly sleek monster of a battery case with 2800 mAh on tap — which iWalk says is the highest capacity of any S3 battery to date.

Yup, I said “hats.”

Madfinger Games announced on its Facebook page today an update to multiplayer FPS game, Shadowgun: Deadzone on both Google Play and the iTunes App Store. The update includes two new maps, new weapon upgrades, a chat feature in the main menu, a new way to play with groups of friends called Gangs, new hats, Rewards for finishing Zone Control or DeathMatch, and an increase to max player ranks (up to 50).

POC, maker of protective headgear for snowboarders, cyclists and other smart people who eschew personal motor transport, has added headphones to one of its helmets. This is both good and bad.
