We can’t say HTC Rezound owners were too happy about sitting by and watching device after device updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, while they sat stuck on Gingerbread, but I can say: they’re much happier now. That’s right, Ice Cream Sandwich has finally begun rolling out to Rezound owners, and while it’s not the latest build, it’s still ICS. Verizon HTC Rezound owners should start seeing the OTA, which will bring them to Android 4.0.3, soon, as we’re already hearing reports of users receiving it.

Boy has it been a slow road for Android 4.0, and while the numbers are still dismal, Ice Cream Sandwich is now populating the second highest number of devices accessing the Google Play Store. Gingerbread remains the majority leader with 60.6% of Android devices running it — quite sad considering it’s almost two years old.

My first answer was “because not all parents want to buy their kids a smartphone.” Then I realized you can pick up a used Android smartphone on Ebay or Swappa for dirt cheap and basically use it as an MP3 player (my daughter is using my old OG DROID in the same manner). So why, why bother with this Sony? We can’t answer that, but what we can do, is tell you what Sony has planned for its Ice Cream Sandwich powered F800 model Walkman.
