HTC One M8 owners on Verizon, here is some news to cheer you up. HTC’s Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi, has announced on Twitter that the Android 4.4.3 update for your handset will start rolling out from September 10th.

Amazon has discounted the Fire Phone to $0.99 on contract just three months after it first went on sale for $199. The move follows lukewarm reviews and a report that revealed less than 35,000 Fire Phones had been sold during its first two months of availability.

UPDATE: The Fire Phone is now available to pre-order on O2.

The Amazon Fire Phone’s exclusivity to the U.S. market will be short-lived with the device set to go on sale in the U.K. later this month, just three months after it first made its debut. It’s expected to be exclusive to O2, and sources say an announcement could be made as early as this week.

HTC has reportedly scrapped plans to release a new smartwatch as competition among the first generation of Android Wear devices heats up. The Taiwanese company was rumored to be working on a wearable that would challenge the Moto 360 with a premium form factor, but sources say it’s no longer in the pipeline.
